Jan 31st 2018: Defender Aaron Simpson has joined Kilmarnock on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.
Killie say Simpson, 20, plays primarily at right-back and has previously been loaned to Portsmouth and Telford.
Aaron said... “I’d probably say I’m a modern-day full-back, I get up and down, get crosses in the box but I like a big tackle as well so hopefully they (the fans) can expect a few of them. But I also work hard and hopefully I can be an asset to the team.”
On who he styles his play on .... “At the moment it’s probably Kyle Walker. He’s the right back at the moment I aspire to be like.
He is athletic and does a job in the Premier League, so that’s the goal, but hopefully this will be a step in my career to get there.”
Simpson is looking forward to getting some games under his belt after a largely frustrating season which has seen him playing for Wolves’ Under-23 side.
Of his aims, he said: “To get a nice run of games and hit some form.
“If I can get some assists that will be a big part of my game, but I’m just looking forward to hopefully getting a run of games and helping the team to push up the table.”
May 24th 2018: Kilmarnock Football Club announce that Aaron Simpson has departed Rugby Park as season 2017-18 concludes, as his loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers has now expired.
