Player News & Quotes:
June 7th 2016: "This is a great opportunity for me. I have been at Kilmarnock for almost two years now and feel my game is constantly improving. There is a great atmosphere at the club and I can't wait to get back in training with the boys under the management of Lee Clark." - Kilmarnock Standard, David Wren, 7th June 2016
Jan 12th 2017 on the fall-out from the Barton Red Card: "I switched my phone off for a few days and let it die down, that was the advice from my agent and people around me, As everyone knows, and the gaffer said it as well, it’s not the type of player I am and it’s not the type of boy I am. I was a Rangers fan and I played with them – I wasn’t out to do that. In the heat of the moment, things happen and you learn from it. The messages on Twitter were quite sparce and pretty mixed. Some people were saying not to worry about it and the odd few gave me abuse but it wasn’t too bad after that.”
On His Career So Far: “It was incredible to get the nod for the Falkirk game. The game was on the Sunday and we only found out the team on Saturday just before we went down for our bacon rolls in Troon. I was buzzing and just couldn’t wait to play. It was the biggest game I’ve played in and probably the best feeling afterwards. It was the relief more than anything. As the gaffer said, there was so much pressure on us with jobs at stake, and other things, so to get such a good start it eased the pressure on everyone.”
“The gaffer has shown a lot of faith in me. When he came in, I trained with the first team more and then obviously went on to make my debut. I’ve had poor games, which is normal, especially for a young boy, but he hasn’t been afraid to throw me in the next week. As the games have gone on I have got more consistent. It was a good confidence boost (to be on the most used U-20 list) because there were some big players on that list. It just shows what the gaffer has done for me here – he believes in me.”
Sept 2nd 2019: Greg joins Celtic for an undisclosed fee.
