Back to business after the international break (when Scotland used to win... 2-0 away to Latvia), and with our form guide looking like a village in the Welsh valleys, a cacophony of L's, we needed help. A hero. A legend, if you will.
Step forward the seer of seers, the prognosticator of prognosticators (I really shouldn't write these after watching Bill Murray movies), leader of men, friend of the stars. Everyone's favourite Malteser, the living legend that is the humongously legendary Dylan 'Mr Legend' Kerr. A legend who made his début in today's game away to Dundee United.
Neil Whitworth and Mark Skilling were not fit to face the Arabs, Derek Anderson was suspended and Mavis was sick. Not exactly a firm base to kickstart your faltering season from. But, with a combination of X-Certificate finishing & varying degrees of goalkeeping quality on show, this match ended goalless. Which, given the way we'd been shipping goals so far this season, was a pleasant surprise.
Boy. Does that sound awfully familiar...
